Flatpack Festival brings Cinema Classics back to the Gardens

Want to immerse yourself in a spectacular outdoor cinema experience? Two Horror classics are coming to the Garden as part of the iconic Flatpack Festival this May!

Hosted in partnership with Mockingbird Cinema and Flatpack, the annual Flatpack Festival is returning to the Gardens. The Flatpack Festival is an annual cinema festival that occurs across Birmingham every May.

This year we will be screening two classic films, hand selected for the unique atmosphere only the Gardens can provide. The space will be transformed into an immersive glimpse into the world of each respective film, with DJ music sets to get you in the mood and delicious food from “Smoke and Ash Pizza” and “Mahirs”. The Gardens Bar will also be open with a selection of hot and cold drinks. Bring a blanket or camping chairs and settle in for great evening, the perfect merging of nature and cinema.

Immerse yourself in nature with the tense, Technicolor masterpiece The Birds, as it turns our innocent feathered friends into horrifying monsters. We’ll be joined on the night by the Talking Hitchcock Podcast, offering insights into the film’s towering legacy while you settle in for an unforgettable night. After all, where better to screen the original ‘when nature attacks’ movie than the beautiful natural surroundings of Birmingham’s Botanical Gardens?
