The Gardens are an independent charity who are regulated by the Charity Commission. Our charitable objectives are to further public education in botany, horticulture and to encourage and provide facilities for scientific study and research and to maintain and preserve gardens, grounds, buildings and land in or about the City of Birmingham.

Horticulture Trustee

Birmingham Botanical Gardens is looking for a new Trustee with experience in horticulture and the experience to contribute to our major project, as well as ensuring that the charity complies with its governing document and our legal and financial compliance as a registered charity.

We are looking for a Trustee with a background in horticulture and horticultural heritage.

Development Manager

Birmingham Botanical Gardens is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Development Manager to join the fundraising and development team to restore and preserve the Gardens for the benefit of everyone now and for future generations.

This full time role will build on the £18.5m fundraising success to date and work with the wider Fundraising and Development team to increase charitable income.

Salary: £33 – £35,000 gross per annum, depending on experience

Community Horticulturalist

Birmingham Botanical Gardens is looking for a Community Horticulturalist to support the delivery of Birmingham Botanical Gardens’ Living Collections Strategy and our Engagement programme.

This cross-team role is central to the Gardens’ mission and purpose, and the postholder will play a key role in nurturing inspiring, meaningful opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to connect with the Gardens.

Luminate Winter Vacancies

Looking for a unique and rewarding winter job? Become part of the team behind Luminate, a breathtaking illuminated light trail set within the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. From 28th November – 2nd January 2027, you’ll help bring this captivating experience to life, working in one of Birmingham’s most iconic heritage sites.
