If you’ve visited the Gardens in summer before, you may remember our Butterfly House which is usually open between May and September. We’re sorry to share that the Butterfly House will not be opening this year. We’ll be using the glasshouse as a temporary home to care for and protect plants while restoration work takes place.

We know the Butterfly House is a much-loved part of the Gardens. We understand this may be disappointing news. However, we hope you agree that it’s for a good cause to preserve the Gardens’ heritage and secure it’s future.

In the meantime, take a moment to explore the wildlife all around you- the Gardens are a haven of biodiversity. From bees and butterflies, to birds and dragonflies, the Gardens are alive with natural pollinators and visiting species throughout the seasons. Why not explore further- take a look at our inspiring programme of events or have a go at one of our family trails, available to purchase at reception.
