Due to the extreme heat, some areas of the Gardens will be closed from Saturday 27th to Monday 29th June, for the safety of our visitors and staff. The Glasshouses, remaining areas of the Gardens, Medicine Bakery Café and the Gardens Shop will be open.

The Gardens will be open as usual, along with the on-site Medicine Bakery Café and the Gardens Shop. However, access to the heated glasshouses will remain temporarily closed until the temperature falls below the recommended levels, for the safety of our visitors and staff.

We still welcome you to the Gardens and you can get 20% off your admission fee, during this disruption. Discounted tickets can be booked online and at the Welcome Desk upon arrival.

As part of our ongoing commitment to caring for and improving the site, we will be carrying out important infrastructure upgrades from Monday 1st June to Wednesday 3nd June.

During this time, specialist maintenance vehicles will be on site, which means that parking capacity will be reduced. If you are planning a visit, we kindly encourage you to travel by public transport, walk, cycle, car-share, or make alternative travel arrangements where possible.

These works form part of a wider programme of investment in our operational facilities, helping to ensure we can continue to maintain and care for the landscape, habitats and visitor experience for years to come.

We appreciate that reduced parking may cause some inconvenience and are grateful for your patience while this essential work takes place. The good news is that the project is expected to be completed within three days, and we anticipate normal parking arrangements resuming from Thursday 4th June.

Tomorrow, Tuesday 12th May, we will be installing the brand-new International Garden Photographer of the Year Exhibition on the Main Lawn. To allow the team to safely complete this install, part of the Main Lawn will be temporarily closed until the installation is complete. The Japanese Garden and National Bonsai Collection are currently closed for works.

We are in the process of removing a wall in the Japanese Garden so the horticulture team can start the decant on these Gardens ahead of the upcoming renovations. We thank you for your understanding and paitence.

Update for this weekend: Following Storm Goretti, the Gardens are partially open this weekend due to icy conditions on site. Our four heated glasshouses are open as usual, along with the on-site Medicine Bakery Café and the Gardens Shop. However, access to the outdoor garden areas will remain temporarily closed while the ice thaws and we work to make the site safe for everyone. We invite you to enjoy the landscape views from the Terrace or Glasshouses. If further severe weather affects opening, we will share updates here.

The Gardens will open two minutes late, at 11:02am, on Tuesday 11 November. This is to observe the 2 minute silence for Remembrance Day.

Gardens visitors should note one of the roads on to the Gardens, (Westbourne Road) is partially closed today for road maintenance. As such, we recommend coming via Vicarage Road if you intend to visit.

Do note that due to this road closure, congestion is expected in front of the Gardens Car Park, and we recommend factoring this into your travel plans. The Gardens are open as normal for “the Goths Playground pop up market” and “Arachnobot and the Giant Web”.

Please note that we have sold out of Jurassic Gardens tickets for Tuesday, 27 May. You will be unable to book further tickets online for this date. Day tickets for viewing the Gardens will still be availible to purchase from the Welcome Desk on the day, however these tickets will be for viewing the Gardens only, and the stretch tent, which will be where the dinosaurs can be found will be inaccessable.

UPDATE: We have sold out of Day Tickets for today. Thank you to all the visitors that have come and supported us today, and to Smoke and Ash Pizza and Medicine Bakery for the launch weekend. We advise anyone looking to visit the Gardens to book in advance to secure thier spot.

Due to incredibly high demand today, we highly recommend attendees book in advance if you are intending on coming to the Gardens today. If you are a member, your entry will still be free, but we still recommend booking in advance to reserve your place.

It is likely that we will reach capacity, so book in advance to avoid disappointment.

If you’ve visited the Gardens in summer before, you may remember our Butterfly House which is usually open between May and September. We’re sorry to share that the Butterfly House will not be opening this year. We’ll be using the glasshouse as a temporary home to care for and protect plants while restoration work takes place.

We know the Butterfly House is a much-loved part of the Gardens. We understand this may be disappointing news.However, we hope you agree that it’s for a good cause to preserve the Gardens’ heritage and secure it’s future.

Alice’s Easterland Adventure will be in the suites today, so we can stay warm and dry, in the Garden Suite.

If you would like to visit the Gardens and not take part in the Easter activities, you can purchase a general admissions ticket to the Gardens at the Welcome Desk only.
